Find Peace in a Frantic World

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
for Individuals and Couples

In-Person in Sarasota and Online in Many States

Has it been a while since you felt deeply at peace?

Think back to when you last felt at home in your body and mind – whole, attuned, and deeply present for others and yourself.

What a blessing that feeling of presence and peace is.

It may be that you have wandered from that state of peace and often feel lost, frantic, and disconnected from yourself and others.

“Do you think peace will come some other place than here?
Some other time than now?
In some other heart than yours.”

– Dorothy Hunt

Are you feeling stuck in some area of your life?

You’ve worked hard and achieved some success but often feel exhausted, lost, and unable to see the point in all your efforts. You have lost your way and feel stuck and alone trying to please and perform well for others.

When you’re in this mud, you are barely able to be present for yourself, to say nothing of being present for others.

You know there is a better way to live and love; you long to feel clear, free, and at home in your life again. As Thich Nhat Hanh so aptly said, “No Mud. No Lotus.”

“No Mud, No Lotus.”

I can help you find the lotus in the mud.

Hi, I’m Gretchen.

It takes a lot of courage to turn toward your problems. I’ve been providing guidance and encouragement for over 25 years in my practice as a psychotherapist.

While the problems seem complex, the solution is often simple. Our work together will help you feel centered and true again. And once you are centered and true, everything begins to fall into place.

The path forward is through relationship – your relationship with yourself and your therapeutic relationship with me. It begins with feeling safe enough to talk about what is really going on. Together, we turn toward what is difficult and messy – the mud – to transform it.

Ultimately, therapy is about cultivating an ability to pause and listen to yourself, to hear what your true self is calling for you to do. You stop running away, stop running after, and learn to pause and listen.

By listening deeply and honestly and trusting what emerges, you begin to transform yourself and your relationship with all the people you care about and, ultimately, your relationship with life itself. This is the lotus.

I can help you do this. Give me a call, and let’s get started.

Often, you cannot hear what calls for attention until you sit down and listen.

Listening is the key.

I’m here to listen with you.

Tell me, what is it that you plan to do with your
one wild and precious life?

– Mary Oliver
